About the One Mighty Weekend of Sports Softball Tournament Introduction Men's and Women's softball will be held at the Softball Diamondplex and converted Baseball Quadraplex. These facilities feature four diamonds in a giant circular pattern with two additional fields adjacent. Outfield fences measure 305 feet, and temporary fences are available for games when shorter distances are required. Each field can be configured to accommodate fastpitch softball, slowpitch softball, or youth baseball games; and all the fields feature bullpens, spacious dugouts, and helmet/equipment shelves. Softball programming includes Men's and Women's (Modified Open, A, B, C, D); Grass surfaces are top-of-the-line Tifway 419 Bermuda Turf. Designed to the exact specifications of the International Ameature Athlete Federations (IAAF). A centrally located tower overlooking the Diamondplex offers all the latest conveniences including press facilities, concession stands, and an area for scorekeepers and officials. Dates: Pool Play from Friday, 6 June through Saturday, 7 June ; Single Elimination Sunday, 8 June.

Divisions

Division A: Competitive division primarily for highly skilled and experienced softball players in good physical condition;
Division B: Recreational division is for moderately skilled and moderately experienced softball players in average physical condition;
Division C: Beginners division is for players developing their skill and with little experience.

The following may help participants familiar with the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance (NAGAAA) softball divisions to identify the correct division for their team. The One Mighty Weekend division "A" is similar to a combined NAGAAA "A" and "B" division. The OMW "B" division is most similar to the NAGAAA "C" division and the OMW "C" is most similar to the NAGAAA "D" division.

Rules/Sanctioning: One Mighty Weekend of Sports follows the sanctioning standards for softball set by the Amateur Softball Association (ASA - www.softball.org) and the rules estbalished by the International Softball Federation (ISF - http://www.internationalsoftball.com/rules.html.)

Minimum Number of Games: 5 games total, weather permitting. 3 games in the preliminary round (pool play) followed by a single elimination tournament, weather permitting.

Sport Fees: $ 25.00 per participant

The cost to partipate in One Mighty Weekend of Sports is only $ 25.00 per participant. If you register for Softball, you may also participate in the 5K Run for an addition $ 25.00.
