ONE MIGHTY WEEKEND OF SPORTS 2008©

June 6th - 8th, 2008
Experience the competitive fun of sports at world-class facilities
while connecting with other recreationally minded Gay Days Weekenders
at ONE MIGHTY WEEKEND OF SPORTS — Johnny Chisholm’s newest addition
to a lineup of great events hosted on Disney properties.
Athletes, friends and family are all invited to join
in what is sure to become an awesome new GLBT tradition, at a dream
destination for sports enthusiasts: the DISNEY WIDE WORLD OF SPORTS©
COMPLEX, where softball, volleyball and tennis competitions
and a 5K run will take place at Olympic-caliber venues. ONE MIGHTY
WEEKEND OF SPORTS goes from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Friday, June 6 through
Sunday, June 8.
Registration is now open (CLICK HERE for details).
The cost is just $25.00, and except for the 5K run, registration is
limited to one sport (softball, volleyball or tennis) per participant.
Softball, volleyball or tennis registrants may also compete in the
5K run, for an additional $25.00. Softball, volleyball and tennis
registration closes June 2nd, and the registration deadline for the
5K run is June 7th.
Participants can pick up their registration materials
on Thursday, June 5 at the sports registration center, located in
the ONE MIGHTY WEEKEND EXPO hall at the BUENA VISTA PALACE HOTEL &
SPA. Registrants will receive a collectible participant ID and promos
including discounts at area merchants and special online giveaways
good through 2008. Staff coordinators for ONE MIGHTY WEEKEND of SPORTS
will be on hand to answer any questions.

VOLLEYBALL
The Milk House at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex
Volleyball will be held at the Milk House with over 70,000 square feet, this state-of-the-art facility is one of the most unique sport venues that has not been seen in decades. The Milk House features unprecedented flexibility, new age playing surfaces, custom athlete training areas, and new "Florida Picturesque" construction.
Volleyball programming hosts Men's and Women's (Open, Modified A, BB, B and C); on 12 regulation size courts, in a state of the art 44,800 square foot facility; equiped with 1,200 High-Tech telescopic spectator seating; four locker rooms and amenities.
Inside, fans are surrounded by beautiful ballroom-style finished hallways and stairwells that are decorated with colored tiles and luxury fixtures. The brightly painted ceiling with sprawling trusses and special up-lighting give the cozy arena an open, universal feel. Of the 5,000 seats, the highest row in The Milk House is only 35 feet off the ground, providing up-close viewing of the action!

SOFTBALL The Softball Diamondplex & converted Baseball Quadraplex at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex© Men's and Women's softball will be held at the Softball Diamondplex and converted Baseball Quadraplex. These facilities feature four diamonds in a giant circular pattern with two additional fields adjacent. Outfield fences measure 305 feet, and temporary fences are available for games when shorter distances are required. Each field can be configured to accommodate fastpitch softball, slowpitch softball, or youth baseball games; and all the fields feature bullpens, spacious dugouts, and helmet/equipment shelves. Softball programming includes Men's and Women's (Modified Open, A, B, C, D); Grass surfaces are top-of-the-line Tifway 419 Bermuda Turf. Designed to the exact specifications of the International Ameature Athlete Federations (IAAF). A centrally located tower overlooking the Diamondplex offers all the latest conveniences including press facilities, concession stands, and an area for scorekeepers and officials.

TENNIS Tennis Complex at the Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex With serves slicing the air, groundstrokes sweeping the baseline, and volleys striking the court, Disney's Wide World of Sports® Centre Court Stadium provides every fan with an up-close view of all the intense tennis action. This spectacular setting allows 1,000 permanent courtside seats with the opportunity to place 7,500 seats for larger events. This 10-court venue defines the term for world-class tennis. Tennis programming includes Men's and Women's (Modified Open, A, B, C, D); Multiple Divisions - Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles.

5K Run Course will be run at the Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex Men and Women are encourage to participate in ONE MIGHTY WEEKEND of Sports 5K run held on Disney's campus.
